Dr. Yaser Alrajhi is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist practicing in Edmonton, Alberta. He graduated from medical school in Saudi Arabia in 2001. He then completed an Otolaryngology fellowship subsequently receiving his accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons Canada. Dr. Sherif Idris is a board-certified Otolaryngologist–Head and Neck Surgeon recognized for his excellence in clinical practice, surgical innovation, and academic leadership. He earned his medical degree from the University of Calgary and completed his residency in Otolaryngology–Head & Neck Surgery at the University of Alberta, graduating in 2019.
Following residency, Dr. Idris was selected for the distinguished fellowship at Duke University in advanced head and neck oncologic surgery, microvascular reconstruction, and head and neck surgical endocrinology. During his fellowship, he received specialized training in single-port da Vinci robotic surgery for transoral robotic surgery (TORS) and transoral laser microsurgery (TLM). He also completed a Master’s degree in Management in Clinical Informatics through the Duke University School of Medicine, strengthening his expertise in surgical innovation, data-driven clinical decision-making, and healthcare systems optimization.
Dr. Idris has contributed to groundbreaking work in reconstructive surgery as part of the pioneering team behind the Alberta Reconstructive Technique (ART). His involvement in developing occlusion-driven jaw reconstruction methods and integrating digital surgical design reflects his dedication to advancing the field through innovation, scholarly work, and technical excellence. In addition to his academic and surgical accomplishments, Dr. Idris is committed to improving access to ENT care across Alberta. He routinely travels to rural and Indigenous communities—often as the sole otolaryngologist providing on-site specialty care—ensuring that underserved populations receive equitable and timely access to advanced medical services.
While Dr. Idris maintains specialized expertise in head and neck oncology and complex reconstruction, he also provides comprehensive care for a wide range of general ENT concerns. He is currently accepting new patients and remains dedicated to delivering patient-centered, evidence-based ear, nose, and throat care to individuals and families across Alberta.
Dr. Hadi Seikaly is a professor in the departments of Surgery and Oncology at the University of Alberta in Edmonton. Dr. Seikaly is the Past President of the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He is the Co-Lead of the Alberta Provincial Head and Neck Tumor Team. Dr. Seikaly graduated from the University of Toronto medical school and completed his residency training at the University of Alberta in Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery. He then obtained fellowship training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in advanced head andneck oncology, and microvascular reconstruction. Dr. Seikaly completed a Masters of the Arts in Leadership from the Royal Roads University in 2014.
Dr. Seikaly has a large practice dedicated to head, neck, and skull base oncology and reconstruction. His research interests include functional surgical and reconstructive outcomes, microvascular head and neck reconstruction, submandibular gland transfer, and digitally driven complete occlusal reconstruction. Dr. Seikaly is the director of the Head and Neck Research Network. He has been a PI or collaborator on numerous research grants receiving funding from various agencies, including CIHR, Terry Fox Foundation and Alberta Cancer Foundation. He has published over 260 peer reviewed papers and book chapters.
Dr. Seikaly is the recipient of the many prestigious awards including the Edmonton Zone Medical Staff Association researcher of the year, the Canadian Society of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery award for national educational excellence, the Ernest Skakun award for service to medical education, and the Mentor of the year. He is a member of numerous surgical societies, nationally/internationally and has been invited as a visiting professor to over 100 institutions lecturing on all aspects of Head and Neck Oncology and reconstruction.
Dr. Ahmed Darwish completed his medical degree and residency training in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at Cairo University’s prestigious Qasr El Eyni Faculty of Medicine, where he also earned a Master’s degree in the same specialty.
Following his training, Dr. Darwish practiced for 12 years as an Ear, Nose, and Throat Consultant at Magrabi Eye and Ear Hospital in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. During this time, he developed a special interest and extensive experience in middle ear microsurgery and endoscopic sinus surgery.
Dr. Darwish subsequently obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (F.R.C.S.I) in Otolaryngology and spent one year practicing in Bristol, United Kingdom. He continues to hold a full license with the UK General Medical Council.
In 2010, Dr. Darwish moved to Canada, where he successfully completed the LMCC examinations and pursued a Fellowship in Allergy at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario. He later relocated to Alberta and completed a Family Medicine residency at the University of Calgary before earning his Certification in Family Medicine (CFPC).
Dr. Darwish is fluent in Arabic, English, and Hungarian. Outside of medicine, he is a devoted father of three and enjoys camping, gardening, swimming, wood sculpture, and painting.
